Britons are keen to find easy updates for their homes, rather than carrying out major improvements, it has been asserted.
In news that may be of interest to those seeking unsecured loans to fund such work, Ben Richards, content editor at housetohome, said decorating was still one of the great British passions.
"The stress point we see is that with the credit crunch they don't have the money right now to tackle big home improvements and that's the real problem, he explained.
Mr. Richards added that many people were aware that their property was their biggest asset and that they could protect their investment by upgrading it.
This could include creating a feature wall or adding a statement light fitting.
In related news that may interest those looking for unsecured loans, RICS' Building Cost Information Service reported that the average cost of home improvements had risen by 20 per cent in the past two years.
